Irma May Elliott - 92, of Kentville, passed away Monday, August 17, 2015 in the Wolfville Nursing Home. Born in Wolfville, she was a daughter of the late Merton and Vivian (Card) Levy. She was a Veteran of the Second World War, serving as Sergeant Paymaster out of Halifax. She had been employed for a number of years with the Royal Bank of Canada, from where she retired. She was a member of Bedford Baptist Church, where she was an active member of the WMS and served as CGIT Leader. She later affiliated with Kentville United Baptist Church, where she continued her work with the WMS, had been active with the Ladies Auxiliary and was a former editor of Tidings Baptist Magazine. She is survived by a daughter, Renata (Herbert) Desmond, Sackville; a son, Darrel (Cheryl) Elliott, Fletchers Lake; former foster son, William (Carrie) Jackson, Ontario; two sisters, Marie Murray, Greenfield; Claudia (Alvin) MacKay, Port Williams; five grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Glendon Clyde Elliott; a sister, Elizabeth Smith; two brothers, Chester and Harold. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, August 20, 2015 with a Royal Canadian Legion service to be held at 7:00 p.m. both in the White Family Funeral Home, Kentville. The funeral service, followed by a reception, will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, August 21, 2015 in the Kentville United Baptist Church, Reverend Devin Johnstone officiating. Burial will take place in the Greenfield Cemetery, Kings County. Donations in memory may be made to the Alzheimer Society.
