David Laurie "Jumbo" Jordan

1953-2015

David Laurie "Jumbo" Jordan

It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of David Laurie "Jumbo" Jordan on Saturday, August 8, 2015, at the age of 61 years. David will be dearly missed by his sister, Nancy Jordan; his brother-in-law, Ben Wentzell; his nephew, Matthew (Shannon and son, Cooper) Wentzell and his special cousin, Janet Turner and husband Wayne; extended family and countless dear friends. David was born in Kentville, Nova Scotia on September 13, 1953, to Minty and Laurie Jordan. He moved to Edmonton, Alberta in 1975 and began work at Genstar, now Lehigh Heidelberg Cement Group, in November of that year and progressed to Control Room Operator. David will forever be remembered for his giving nature, and his love of family and friends. He so enjoyed the outdoors, his acreage in Calahoo, his four legged friend Eli, kayaking and motorcycling. Reading, horse racing and stimulating conversation provided David with much enjoyment. Nova Scotia held a special place in David's heart! A Memorial Service took place in Edmonton, Alberta, on August 20, 2015. A Celebration of David's Life will be held at the White Family Funeral Home in Kentville, Nova Scotia, on September 24, 2015, at 2:00 p.m. Arrangements have been entrusted to the White Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Kentville.
