Debra Faye "Debbie" (Houghton) Fraser

Debra Faye "Debbie" (Houghton) Fraser - 66, of New Minas, formerly of Arlington, Kings County, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, October 4, 2015 at home. Born in Sheffield Mills, Kings County, she was a daughter of the late Walter Houghton and Frances (Benjamin) Houghton. She was a member of the Valley Cornerstone Assembly Pentecostal Church, where she served as a board member for 9 years. At the age of 62, Debra went back to school and fulfilled her dream of obtaining her high school completion certificate. She is survived by her husband, Charles; daughter, Frances Faye (Kevin Crawley), Sackville; sons, Rick (Bernadette), Canning; James, Kentville; grandchildren, Rebecca (Bobby) Campbell, Matthew Khallil, Kelsey Fraser, Hannah Fraser, Stephanie Fraser and Kaitlyn Fraser; great granddaughter, Hannah Campbell; brothers, Donald Benjamin, Laurie Houghton, Russell Houghton and Gary Houghton; sisters, Phyllis Sweeney, Olive Fraser, Elaine (Bev) Caldwell and Helen McCulley. She was predeceased by brothers, Gerald, Harold and Cecil; a grandson, Jason Khallil. Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, October 7, 2015 in the White Family Funeral Home, Kentville. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, October 8, 2015 in the Valley Cornerstone Assembly, Hillaton, Reverend David Elliott officiating. Burial will take place in the Arlington Community Cemetery. Donations in memory may be made to the Valley Cornerstone Assembly, the Annapolis Valley Victorian Order of Nurses, the Valley Regional Hospital-Carey Me Fund (in support of palliative care in the home) or the Canadian Red Cross. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the White Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Kentville.
