Harold John James Purdy

Harold John James Purdy, 87, of Berwick, formerly of Kentville, passed away Saturday, October 31, 2015 in Shoreham Village, Chester.  Born in Keystown, Saskatchewan, he was a son of the late Wesley and Clara (Aupperle) Purdy.  He had been employed as an accountant with Fina (Petro Canada) from where he retired.  He enjoyed woodworking and viewing western movies.  He is survived by his wife, the former Margaret Margeson; a daughter, Jo Anne (John) Monteiro, Burlington, Ontario; a son, Bradley (Lyn) Strathroy, Ontario; three grandchildren, Kristian, Cameron and Margaret; four sisters, Dorothy (John) Duchak, Florence (Stanley) Klepacki, Jean (George) Simpson and Violet (Hugh) McKinnon; a brother, Andy (Carol); nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased by two brothers, Lloyd and Earl.  Cremation has taken place.  There will be no visitation or funeral service, by request.  The family wishes to express their appreciation to the doctors, nurses and staff of Valley Regional Hospital, Soldiers Memorial Hospital and Shoreham Village for their care, kindness, support and compassion. Donations in memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia or the Valley Regional Hospital Foundation.  Arrangements have been entrusted to the White Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Kentville.
