Thomas Clifton Rogers

Thomas Clifton "Tom" Rogers - 63, of Canning, Kings County, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, November 8, 2015. Born in Kentville on April 23, 1952, he was the oldest son of the late Thomas Clifton and Evelyn Bobbie (Blenkhorn) Rogers. Tom was employed at Maple Leaf Foods, Canard for 22-plus years. He enjoyed playing crib with friends, the lottery and Monday night Bingo. People knew not to call on Bingo night. An avid story teller, Tom had the ability to capture an audience with his creative tales. He was predeceased by brothers, Jimmy and Donnie. Mourning his passing are brothers, Roy, Gerry, Robert and Bradley; sisters, Anne, Elizabeth "Debbie" Simpson (Frenchie), Judy King, Dot (Vance) Sweet and Emily (Bruce) Cunningham; several nieces and nephews; many great nieces and great nephews. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends. Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, November 17, 2015 in the White Family Funeral Home, Kentville, where the funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 18, 2015. A reception will follow at the home of Nicole Rogers, 2179 Sheffield Road (Highway 358), Canning, NS. Burial will take place at a later date in the Hillaton Cemetery. Donations in memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia or the charity of your choice. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the White Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Kentville.
