Carl Avery Benjamin

Carl Avery Benjamin - 73, of Kentville, passed away after a lengthy battle with Multiple Sclerosis, Tuesday, January 12, 2016 in Shannex-Orchard Court, Kentville. Born in Wolfville, he was a son of the late James and Frances (Rogers) Benjamin. Carl was an electrician by trade, owning and operating C. A. Benjamin Electrical Contractors, retiring due to ill health. He was a veteran member of the Kentville Volunteer Fire Department and in his earlier years, enjoyed hunting and fishing. Carl enjoyed camping and was a member of the High Tide Drifters. He was also served as a leader with Cubs and Boy Scouts. He is survived by two daughters, Tracey Benjamin, Berwick and Tanya Benjamin (Dana Woodworth), Waterville; two sons, Rodney (Wanda), Canning and Michael "Mike" (Lin), Kentville; two sisters, Dorothy (Lewis) Kerr, West Brooklyn and Edith (Rae) Hiltz, Port Williams; two brothers, James "Buddy" (Margaret), Alberta and Wesley (Wendy), Ontario; six grandchildren, Jennifer, Jessica, Amber, Michaela, Cassidy and Stacey; nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister, Viola Benjamin. Cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation, by request. A celebration of Carl's life will take place from 2-4 p.m. Saturday, January 16, 2016 in the Kentville Volunteer Fire Department. Interment will take place at a later date. Donations ion memory may be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Society, the Kentville Volunteer Fire Department or the charity of your choice. Arrangements have been entrusted to the White Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Kentville.
