Erna Genevieve Sawler

Erna Genevieve Sawler - 82, of Coldbrook, Kings County, passed away Tuesday, February 9, 2016 at home. Born in White Rock, she was a daughter of the late Gordon and Ella (Long) Ells. Erna enjoyed being a homemaker, was involved with Girl Guides, was a life member of the W.M.S. and was formerly a member of Eastview Baptist Church, Vanier, Ontario. She is survived by her husband, Major (retired) Beverley R Sawler; daughter,  Kathrin "Kim" Grace, Coldbrook; daughter-in-law, Christine, New Zealand; sister-in-law, Elizabeth "Betty" Ells, Hantsport; grandchildren, Alexander Pittman, Kingston, Ontario; Geoffrey Pittman, Coldbrook; Liam and Maddie Sawler, New Zealand. She was predeceased by son, Steven "Steve"; sisters, Doris Clayton, Helen Davidson and Bernita Davison; brother, Alvin Ells. Cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation or funeral service, by request. A private family interment service will take place at a later date in the Bishopville Cemetery, Kings County. A special thank you to the VON team of Nurses and Continuing Care Assistants, especially Tammy Attwell CCA and Nichole Loveridge CCA and also to Dr Robert Gunn for all their kindness, care and compassion. Donations in memory may be made to the Annapolis Valley Victorian Order of Nurses or the Canadian Red Cross. Arrangements have been entrusted to the White Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Kentville.
