Edna Evangeline Forbes

It is with sadness that the family announces the sudden passing of Edna Evangeline (Varner) Forbes on Friday, April 1, 2016 at home. She was born on May 23, 1950 in Truro, Colchester County. She is survived by her daughters, Miriam Forbes, Kentville; Kathleen (Rick) Barkhouse, Kentville; four grandchildren, Steven Nowe Jr., Justin, Logan and Jordan Barkhouse; five sisters, Evelyn, Truro; Marie, Truro; Barb, Halifax; Jeanette, Truro; Juanita, Truro; a brother, Eddie, Truro; many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her partner, Donald Patterson; her father, Everett Varner; her mother, Miriam (Langille) Varner; a sister, June. She worked for the VON Home Care and enjoyed spending time with all of her clients. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, April 7, 2016 in the White Family Funeral Home, Kentville, where the funeral service, followed by a reception, will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, April 8, 2016, Reverend Sterling Gosman officiating. Burial will take place in the Bible Hill Cemetery, Colchester County. Donations in memory may be made to the VON or the Lung Association. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the White Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Kentville.
