Emmerson Leslie Bennett

Emmerson Leslie Bennett – 83, of Kentville, formerly of Steam Mill, Kings County, passed away, April 22, 2016 at the QE II Health Sciences Centre - VG Site, Halifax. Born in Canning, he was a son of the late George and Effie (Barkhouse) Bennett.  He had been a caretaker of the Elm Grove Cemetery for a number of years. He is survived by his wife, the former Ruth Schnare; two daughters, Julie (Michael) Schofield, Kentville; Angela, (companion, Jan Kelly), Wolfville; one son, Emmerson (fiancée, Tanya Forsythe); four grandchildren, Meghan, Amber, Katie and Timothy. He was predeceased by four brothers, Clarence, Laurie, Kenneth and Earl. Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, April 26, 2016 in the White Family Funeral Home, Kentville, where the funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 27, 2016, Reverend Thelma McLeod officiating. Burial will take place in the Elm Grove Cemetery. Donations in memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
