Sheena Mae Atwell

Sheena Mae (Allen) Atwell - Age 83. It is with sadness that the family of Sheena Atwell announces her passing on Friday May 6, 2016, in the Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. She was a recent resident of Wolfville Nursing Home. Born in Grand Pré, she was the daughter of Winnifred (Allen) England. She lived all her life in Grand Pré, with her grandparents Fred & Jean Allen, whom she considered her parents. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She attended school in Grand Pré and at an early age began working at Stirling's Snack Bar, now The Evangeline Restaurant and Motel, retiring after over 30 years and was well known for her pastries, especially her pies. She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Wylie; daughters, Jeannie Schofield (Jack) of White Rock; Audrey Kennedy (Randy) of Wallbrook and Heather Cameron (Malcolm) of Florida; grandchildren, Jessica Schofield (Eric Wishnowski), Manitoba; Justin (Montana), Grand Pré; Brandon, Wallbrook; Breanna Kennedy, Alberta; Brett and Logan Cameron, Florida; great grandchild, Wyatt Wishnowski, Manitoba; aunt, Sybil Gertridge (Frank); half-sister, Beatrice Pinch (Paul); half-brothers, Lawrence (Betty), John (Heather), George (Maureen); many cousins, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by grandparents, Fred and Jean Allen; mother, Winnifred England (Bob). Cremation has taken place. The funeral service was held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 10, 2016 in the White Family Funeral Home, Kentville, Pastor Eva VanBuskirk officiated. In lieu of flowers donations may made to Valley Regional Hospital. Interment took place in the Lower Horton Cemetery, Grand Pré. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the White Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Kentville.
