Grace Amealia Corkum
1926-2016
Grace Amealia Corkum – 90, of Wolfville, formerly of Look Off, Kings County, passed away Monday, May 9, 2016 in the Wolfville Nursing Home. Born in Chipman Brook, Kings County, she was a daughter of the late Charles and Bertie (Gould) Misner. She had been employed in the apple industry and worked with Scotian Gold for 11 years. She also worked with Hostess Foods, was employed at a pea plant in Hillaton, sold Avon and collected surveys for the Government. She is survived by three daughters, Judith Awalt, South Alton; Sharon Perdue, Alberta and Sandra Lyons, North Kentville; two sons, Kenneth and George, both of the Look Off; sisters, Marguerite, Burleen, Evelyn and Carolyn; brothers, Fred, Ronnie, Lawrence, Garnet and Percy; grandchildren, Bryan, Kathy, Kevin, Shane, Logan, Nicole, Kyle, Nathan and Chelsea; great grandchildren, Amelia, Brayden, Louisa, Aiden and Tyson; many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Cecil; sisters Kay, Viola and Vivian; brothers, Charlie and Frank. Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, May 12, 2016 in the White Family Funeral Home, Kentville, where the funeral service, followed by a reception, will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, May 13, 2016, Reverend Murray Shaw officiating. Burial will take place in the Hillaton Cemetery. Donations in memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the charity of your choice. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the White Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Kentville.
