Gerald Douglas Brewster – 84, of Kentville, passed away Friday, May 13, 2016 in the Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born in Canning, he was a son of the late Aubrey and Nora (Buckley) Brewster. He was a veteran of the Korean War. He was employed as a chicken farmer for ACA for 30 years, from where he retired. He was an amazing husband, father and grandfather. He loved summer trips to Ontario and being outdoors. He thoroughly enjoyed the Christian ministry and enjoyed playing cards. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Betty (Graves) Brewster; five daughters, Debbie (Owen) Keddy, Cambridge; Gladys, Kentville; Diane (David) Thomas, Lower Sackville; Mary, Kentville; Joanne (Kevin) Nauffts, Mineville; three sons, Gerald Alan "Jerry", Kentville; Malcolm (Suzanne), Ottawa; Christopher (Rose), Lindsay, Ontario; three sisters, Frances, Prince Edward Island; Bernice, Woodville; Audrey, Kentville; two brothers, Frank Sawlor, Dartmouth; Kenneth Brewster, Grand View Manor, Berwick; 17 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren. He was predeceased by a sister, Mary; a grandson, Darren. Cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation, by request. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 18, 2016 in the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, Park Street, Kentville, Mr. Chris Plant officiating. Burial will take place in the Elm Grove Cemetery, Steam Mill. Donations in memory may be made to the charity of your choice. Arrangements have been entrusted to the White Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Kentville.
