David Woolfrey Carnell
1939-2016
David Woolfrey Carnell – 76, of Kentville, passed away Monday, May 23, 2016 in the Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born in Bell Island, Newfoundland, he was a son of the late Wilfred and Hazel (Butt) Carnell. He served in the Canadian Armed Forces with the Black Watch. He was then employed at the Co-op Feed Mill in New Minas and also worked as a commissionaire during his retirement. He was an avid hockey fan, especially the Toronto Maple Leafs. He is survived by his wife, Joyce (McInnis) Carnell; a daughter, Deborah Carnell, Middleton; two sons, David, Kentville; Darrell (Heather), Centreville; a sister, Jean Williams, Evergreen Home for Special Care, Kentville; six grandchildren, Laura, Tommy, Tyler, Cassie, Melissa and Charles; five great grandchildren. He was predeceased by four sisters, Mabel (in infancy), Dorothy Williams, Marjorie Baldwin and Daisy Moore; a brother, Wilfred (in infancy). Cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation, by request. A private family graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, June 4, 2016 in the Black River Cemetery, Kings County. Donations in memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the charity of your choice. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the White Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Kentville.
