Burleen Idella Brown

Burleen Idella Brown – 84, formerly of Steam Mill, Kings County, passed away Sunday, June 5, 2016 in the Wolfville Nursing Home. Born in Chipman Brook, she was a daughter of the late Charles and Bertie (Gould) Misner. She had been employed with Scotties, Hostess Foods, picked apples and was a district manager for Fashion 220 and Lady Finelle Cosmetics. She also worked with Stats Canada well into her sixties. She is survived by four daughters, Debbie (Doug) Wilson, Steam Mill; Betty (Cameron) Jordan, Gaspereau Mountain; Cheryl (Glen) Morine, Centreville and Krista (Nick) Sloan, Steam Mill; a son, Wayne (Roxene), South Alton; three sisters, Marguerite Hudson, Calgary; Evelyn Misner, New Minas and Carolyn (Percy) Henshaw, Aldershot; five brothers, Percy, New Minas; Garnet (Vicki), Coldbrook; Lawrence (Donelda), Owen Sound, Ontario; Ronald (Carol), Steam Mill and Fred, Centreville; 14 grandchildren; many great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, George "Bick" Brown; a son, Darrell; a granddaughter, Tangela Brown; a great grandson, Brayden; four sisters, Grace Corkum, Viola Boyce, Kathleen Misner and Vivian Patton; two brothers, Charlie and Frank. Visitation will be held from 7-9 p.m. Thursday, June 9, 2016 in the White Family Funeral Home, Kentville, where the funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, June 10, 2016, Pastor Christina Bigelow officiating. A private family burial will take place at a later date. Donations in memory may be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, the Alzheimer Society of Nova Scotia or the Canadian Cancer Society.
