Maurice Lenwood Weir

Maurice Lenwood Weir - 100, of Kentville, passed away Saturday, June 11, 2016 in Grand View Manor, Berwick. Born in Shelburne, he was a son of the late Louis and Jesse (Bower) Weir. He had been employed with Canada Packers in Port Williams for 40 years. Maurice enjoyed camping and was an avid card player. He is survived by two sons, William "Billy" (Sylvia) and Douglas (Marie), both of Kentville; seven grandchildren, Tony, Tim, Mark, Kim, Tracy, Stephen and Gregory; 10 great grandchildren; one great great grandchild. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family. He was predeceased by his wife, Jennie (Faulkner); two daughters, Elizabeth "Betty" Murphy and Shirley Zwicker; three sisters and five brothers. Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, June 14, 2016 in the White Family Funeral Home, Kentville, where the funeral service, followed by a reception, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 15, 2016, Reverend Gary Manthorne officiating. Burial will take place in the Elm Grove Cemetery, Steam Mill, Kings County. Family flowers only, by request. Donations in memory may be made to the Kings County S.P.C.A. or the I.W.K. Health Centre Foundation. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the White Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Kentville.
