Thomas "Tom" Wilson

1932-2016

Thomas "Tom" Wilson

With deep sadness I announce the passing of Tom Wilson, age 84, at the Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville on June 18, 2016. Born in Montreal (N.D.G.), he was a son of Scottish immigrants, Thomas and Annie (Smythe) Wilson. During the last few years of his working life, he worked for Fina in Montreal and Syncrude in Fort McMurray. Family life was very important to Tom and together with Audrey they raised four wonderful children. Sadly in 1987, Audrey passed away. A few years later, Tom retired and started a new phase in his life. With Yvonne, he moved to the Valley, settled in Kentville and now had more time to read and play golf. He was a member of Ken-Wo Golf and Country Club for 22 years. When the winter chill set in, he escaped to Florida. He is survived by wife, Yvonne (Dupere); daughter, Eleanor (Neil Velders), Okotoks; sons, Tommy (Colleen), Kelowna; Glen (Shanon), Singapore; Grant, Fort McMurray; sister, Patsy (Bill Reid), Mississauga; five grandchildren; four great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his first wife, Audrey Bowen; sister, Margaret Champagne; brothers, Davy and Billy and his parents. The family would like to thank Dr. Hollenhorst, Victoria General Cancer Clinic; Dr. David Nunn, the Hospice Team and the Nurses on Medical A at the Valley Regional Hospital for the care and compassion shown to Tom and his family. There will be no service. A reception will be held from 3-5 p.m. Wednesday, June 22, 2016 in the White Family Funeral Home, Kentville. Donations in memory may be made to the Valley Hospice Foundation (for the future hospice facility in Kentville).
