Albert Byfield Schofield

With great sadness, the family of Albert Byfield Schofield announces his passing on August 10, 2016 at Grand View Manor, Berwick. Born in Wolfville on October 12, 1927, Albert was the son of the late Adelbert and Annie (Benjamin) Schofield. Albert was employed at the Wolfville Hospital for over 37 years in various positions, including Plant Supervisor and Purchasing Agent. Albert was a long-time active member of the Wolfville Fire Department and a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Albert’s hobbies included flower and vegetable gardening and crafting model cars. As he was generous to a fault, the fruits of his labours always ended up with family and friends. Albert is survived by his loving wife of 71 years, Lois; son, Wayne (Linda), New Minas; daughters, Mary, Halifax; Wendy (Darwin), Idaho; grandchildren, Karla, Jody, Trevor, Krista, Lesa, Karri, Amanda, Brandon and Candice; 17 great grandchildren. Albert was predeceased by brothers, Parker, Fred, Ken and Walter; sisters, Mary, Rachel, Ethel, Clara, Florence and Eleanor. He will be fondly remembered by his many nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank the staff of Grand View Manor for their love and kindness. Donations may be made to a charity of your choice. Visitation will be held from 7:00-8:30 p.m. Monday, August 15, 2016 in the White Family Funeral Home, Kentville. The funeral service, followed by a reception, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 16, 2016 in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Belcher Street, Kentville. Burial will take place in the Elm Grove Cemetery, Steam Mill. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the White Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Kentville.
