Angus Joseph  Gillis

Angus Joseph Gillis – 56, of Kentville, passed away Monday, September 26, 2016 in the Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born in Toronto, he was a son of Patricia (Little) (Gillis) Creemer (James), South Alton and the late John Gillis. He had been employed for 32 years with Michelin Canada and also served with the Canadian Armed Forces (Army) for a period of time. He was very active in sports, an avid fisherman and hunter and had a love for eagles. He loved to torment people for a laugh. Angus was a very giving person who always put everyone before himself. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Rosella (Miles) Gillis; a son, John (Krista) Gillis, Dartmouth; two brothers, Hugh (Sharon) and Robbie (Angela), all of South Alton; four sisters, Elizabeth (Brian), Edmonton, Alberta; Victoria (Bill), South Alton; Deborah (Jim), Waterville; Carla (Tony), East Dalhousie; step-father, James Creemer; mother-in-law, Marion Sawler; numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held from 7-9 p.m. Thursday, September 29, 2016 in the White Family Funeral Home, Kentville, where the funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Friday, September 30, 2016, Reverend Virginia DeAdder officiating. Burial will take place in the Elm Grove Cemetery, Steam Mill. Flowers are welcome. Donations in memory may be made to The Lodge That Gives or the Kidney Foundation. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the White Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Kentville.
