Ronald Vernon Corbett

Ronald Vernon Corbett - 83, of Wolfville, passed away peacefully with family by his side, on Saturday, October 1, 2016 in the Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Born in Wolfville, he was a son of the late Isaac and Annie (Brown) Corbett. He was employed for 26 years in the forestry industry and then was employed for 34 years as the caretaker at the Willow Bank Cemetery, Wolfville. He enjoyed 11 years at Tideways, Wolfville, where he took part in playing pool, coffee parties and shuffleboard. He most enjoyed spending time with family, friends and his grandchildren. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Hazel (Harris); children, Rhonda (Leonard) Miller, Wolfville Ridge; Alan (Darlene) Corbett, South Alton; Tony Corbett, Kentville; Bruce Corbett, Wolfville; Kelly (Chris) Ells, Wolfville; Tracy (the late Daniel) Gates, Coldbrook; Jamie (Lori) Corbett, Greenwich; brother, Carl Corbett, Windsor; sisters, Maxine Messom, British Columbia; Pauline (Leroy) Cavanagh, Forest Hill; June (Donn) Miles, Black River; Ann (Tim), Kingston; Hilda Corbett, New Minas; grandchildren, Anthony, Heather, Rebecca, Leonard, Melissa, Sara, Samantha, Caitlin, Jarrett, Courtney, Kyle, Matthew, Hannah, Annika, Lexington, Dawson and Ethan; honourary grandchildren, Sarah and Emma Kalt; great grandchildren, Rylie, Noah, Cooper, Meia and Aleigha; many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by brothers, Fred, Rennie and Wayne and a brother Blaine, in infancy; sister, Nadine and sisters, Deborah and Doreen, in infancy. Cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation, by request. The funeral service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Friday, October 7, 2016 in the White Family Funeral Home, Kentville, Reverend Gary Manthorne officiating. Burial will take place in the Greenfield Cemetery, Kings County. Family flowers only, by request. Donations in memory may be made to the Valley Regional Hospital-Carey Me Fund or the charity of your choice. The family would like to express their thanks to the Palliative Care Team, the VON nurses and the doctors and nurses at the Valley Regional Hospital for their outstanding care. In addition to our family and friends, we would also like to thank friends and neighbours at Tideways and Mountain Christian Centre for your help, concern and prayers. A special thank you to Chris Fuller for your lunchtime visits with Ronald. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the White Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Kentville.
