Evelyn Jean Millett

Evelyn Jean Millett – 102, of Hall’s Harbour, passed away Monday, October 3, 2016 in Evergreen Home for Special Care, Kentville. Born in Berwick, she was a daughter of the late David "Brenton" and Sarah "Blanche" Corkum. She had been employed with Hostess Foods, New Minas and Weavexx, Kentville, from where she retired. She was a member of the West Hall’s Harbour Baptist Church and the Fundy View Community Club. She enjoyed gardening, sewing and loved pets, especially cats and dogs. She is survived by four grandchildren, Sharon (Donald) Ward, Bruce, Holly and Robin Millett; seven great grandchildren; five great great grandchildren. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She was predeceased by her husband, Murray; two sons, Donald and Jack; two sisters, Rita Rogers and Florence Seymour; three brothers, William, Gerald and Alfred Corkum. Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the funeral service at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, October 8, 2016 in the White Family Funeral Home, Kentville, Reverend Mary Anne Doherty-Fleet, Chaplain officiating. Burial will take place in the East Hall’s Harbour Cemetery. Donations in memory may be made to the East Hall’s Harbour Cemetery Fund or the charity of your choice. The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to the caregivers and staff at Evergreen Home for Special Care for their care, kindness and compassion. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the White Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Kentville.
