Elaine Marie Mills

Elaine Marie Mills – 71, of Centreville, Kings County, passed away Thursday, October 13, 2016 at home. Born in Kentville, she was a daughter of the late Garfield and Leah (Ward) Brown. She was a loving stay-at-home mother and grandmother. She loved to cook, knit and sew. She also enjoyed gardening and was an avid reader. During the last 21 years, she fought a strong and valiant battle with Multiple Sclerosis, but no matter how she felt, she always brought joy to everyone around her. She is survived by three daughters, Bernice Wilson, Wendy (Steve) Rethy and Janice (Brian) Hodgkinson; brothers, Marvin, Linden, Gary and Stephen; sisters, Judith, Ardith and Gail; grandchildren, Sheena-Dawn, Karson, Brittany, Krystal and Jasmine; great grandchildren, Charlie, Maria, Jackson, Broden, Carter, Kendra and Gab-Reall; numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband of 40 years, Lloyd Mills; two brothers, Eric and Hugh. Cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation, by request. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, October 17, 2016 in the White Family Funeral Home, Kentville, Reverend Michael Shreve officiating. Burial will take place in the Elm Grove Cemetery, Steam Mill, Kings County. A reception will follow in the Hall's Harbour Fire Department Hall. Family flowers only, by request. Donations in memory may be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Society of Nova Scotia. Special thanks to the VON, CCA’s and LPN’s who provided exceptional care and support during Elaine’s illness.
