Avery Albert Spencer

Avery Albert Spencer - 80, of New Minas, Kings County passed away on Monday, October 10, 2016 in Wainwright, Alberta. Born in White Rock, he was a son of the late James Spencer and Effie Walsh. He enjoyed hunting, especially deer, watching sports, playing crib and darts and attending auctions. He is survived by his companion, Dorothy Johnstone; children, Justin Spencer (Kathy), John Spencer (Beverly), Dean Spencer (Dallas), Penny Spencer (Brian), Robert Spencer (Leanne), Glen Spencer (Judy), Matthew Spencer (Anna); step-daughter, Melinda Hatfield; sisters, Linda Dennis, Doris Salsman (Don, deceased), Violet Walsh (Steve), Marian Watton (Jeff), Barb Potter (Rod); brothers, Freamond Dennis (Freda, deceased), Carl Dennis (Marguerite), David Walsh; 19 grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; a great great grandson. He was predeceased by a wife, Judy (Hatfield); brothers, Maynard Walsh and Johnny Walsh; sister, Joyce Bishop. Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, October 25, 2016 in the White Family Funeral Home, Kentville. Cremation will follow. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 2, 2016 in the St. Lawrence Cemetery, Kingston, Reverend Gary Manthorne officiating. In honour of Avery, you are invited to wear an item of blue clothing during the visitation or graveside service. Family flowers only, by request. Donations in memory may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association or the Heart and Stroke Foundation. Arrangements have been entrusted to the White Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Kentville.
