Ivan Murray Coleman

Ivan Murray Coleman – 71, of Cambridge, Kings County, passed away Friday, October 21, 2016 at home. Born in Berwick, he was a son of the late Arthur and Ruby (O’Neil) Coleman. In his younger years, he enjoyed picking apples and going on adventures with his brothers and sisters. He had been employed with Kentville Hardware and then as a supervisor with Weavexx, Kentville, from where he retired after 38 years of service. He enjoyed history, woodworking, gardening, going for Sunday drives and caring for his goats and chickens on his hobby farm. He was a fan of the Chicago Black Hawks and the Los Angeles Dodgers. He was very fond of his grandchildren and loved them dearly. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Katherine "Kitty" (Turner); two sons, Sean (Pam) and Scott (Loretta), both of Coldbrook; three sisters, Dora Fredericks, Halifax; Eleanor Ward, Black Rock; Helen Sweeney, Port Lorne; a brother, Al, Windsor; five cherished grandchildren, Liam, Emma, Jacob, Drew and Kayleigh; nieces and nephews. He will also be missed by his pets, Scooter, Izzy and Tessie. He was predeceased by a sister, Arlene Bezanson. Cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation, by request. Everyone is welcome to attend a celebration of Ivan’s life to be held from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday, November 1, 2016 in the Cambridge Community Centre. A private burial will take place in the West Black Rock Cemetery, Kings County. Donations in memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia or the charity of your choice. Arrangements have been entrusted to the White Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Kentville.
