Marilyn Ann Gertridge

Marilyn Ann (Wright) Gertridge - of Gaspereau, NS passed away at the Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville on November 27, 2016. She was the youngest daughter of the late Charles Hemmeon and Annie Louise (Eaton) Wright of Wolfville. She was also predeceased by her husband, Dean; sisters, Jean and Rhoda (Colville); and her brother, Graham. Marilyn is survived by sons, Stephen (Paige), Bedford; Trevor (Suzanne), Moncton; daughters, Daphne (Jim) Frazee, White Rock; Grace (Ted) Fraser, Kentville. She had three grandchildren, Erin, Kira, and Glenn; and three step grandchildren, Mireille, Gabrielle, and TaeKyung; as well as three great grandchildren, Tyson, Harper, and Cameron; and several nieces and nephews. Born in Wolfville on June 22, 1929, she was a member of various clubs and organizations in Wolfville and area during her lifetime. Being musically inclined, in the 1970s she took up the harp and performed locally. She enjoyed movies, travel, dining out, good conversation, and had a catchy offbeat sense of humour. Marilyn loved the salt water and was a regular at Evangeline Beach all of her life. In later years, she provided many vivid recollections of family, friends, and life in the Wolfville area from a bygone era. Cremation has taken place. There will be no formal funeral service. Marilyn’s life will be celebrated at a visitation and reception to be held from 2-4 p.m. Thursday, December 1, 2016 in the White Family Funeral Home, Kentville. Interment will take place at a later date in the Gaspereau Cemetery. Donations can be made to the charity of your choice. Arrangements have been entrusted to the White Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Kentville.
