Greta "Pearle" Hill

Greta "Pearle" Hill – of Hantsport, passed away peacefully, Saturday, December 24, 2016 in Hants Community Hospital, Windsor. Born in Northfield, Hants County, she was the daughter of the late Merton and Blanche (Miller) Miller. Mom had various jobs over her lifetime, starting at Canadian Keyes Fibre, Hantsport, for 18 years. She attended Mack Business College and worked in Edmonton for five years. Her last job was Matron/Porter at Cutten House, Acadia University, from where she retired. Pearle was a beautiful seamstress, enjoyed knitting, playing cards (as long as she was winning), board games, puzzles and watching her Toronto Maple Leafs and Toronto Blue Jays. Mom enjoyed many bus trips over the years with her friends. She was a life time member of Hantsport United Church Women’s Group and a past member of Hantsport Elders. Pearle was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She will be forever missed by son, Glendon (Debbie) Hill, Avonport; daughters, Trudy Spidle, Centreville; Faye Hill and Patti (Blair) Davis, both of Hantsport; grandchildren, Tina, Stacy, Marcia, Tyler, Brody, Penny and Shelby; great grandchildren, Taylor, Brooke, Dawson, Brennan, Raine, Aaris, Paige, Gunner and Jaycie; several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by siblings, Lorna, Maxine, Shirley, Willis, Arthur and Thelma; infant daughter, Sheila; son, Milton; great grandson, Quentin; son-in-law, Steve Spidle. We would like to thank Barb Kennedy for the wonderful care she provided to Mom during the last month. Thank you to the nurses and staff at Soldiers Memorial and Valley Regional Hospitals. A special thank you to the Palliative Care Unit at Hants Community Hospital. Cremation has taken place. In keeping with Mom’s wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral service. A private family burial will take place at a later date in the Riverbank Cemetery, Hantsport. Donations in memory may be made to a charity of one’s choice. Arrangements have been entrusted to the White Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Kentville, Nova Scotia.
