John Robinson "Jack" Johnson – 72, of South Alton, Kings County, passed away Saturday, December 24, 2016 in Shannex-Orchard Court, Kentville with his family by his side. Born in Middlewood on November 5, 1944, he was a son of the late Arnold and Julia (Weagle) Johnson. He was employed with Maurice’s Ready Mix and Quality Concrete for over 40 years until he retired. He was a "Jack of all trades" and could build or repair anything. He loved to sing and play his guitar. He also enjoyed being outside working around the yard and loved his dogs Buffy and Abbie. He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Ruby (Parker) Johnson; a son, Kevin (Tracey); a daughter, Karen (Mike); grandchildren, Melanie (Steve), James, Elizabeth, Brittany (Travis), and Brandon; a great grandson, Caleb; brothers, Arnie (Sandra), and Maynard; a sister, Judy (William); a sister-in-law, Judy Johnson; a brother-in-law, Doug. He was predeceased by a brother, Richard; a sister, June; a half-sister, Arna. Cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation, by request. The funeral service, followed by a reception, will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, December 29, 2016 in the White Family Funeral Home, Kentville. Burial will take place at a later date. Family flowers only, by request. Donations in memory may be made to the Alzheimer Society or any charity. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the White Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Kentville, Nova Scotia.
