Arthur Gordon "Art" Mailman

Arthur Gordon "Art" Mailman – 61, of Coldbrook, Kings County, passed away Wednesday, January 4, 2017 in the Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born in Lakeville, Kings County, he was a son of the late Gordon Messom and Mary (Dominey) Mailman. Art took great pride in owning and operating Art’s Overhead Doors. He enjoyed working and was considered a "Jack of all Trades". He loved his grandchildren, ballroom dancing, music, four-wheeling and 4X4 off-road rallies, having organized the Fox Mountain Rally. He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Sharon (Green); two daughters, Margaret (Garry) Martell, Halifax; Lisa Murphy (Les Bowlby), Aylesford; two sons, Dave (Allison), Windsor; Jeff (Julie), Petawawa, Ontario; five sisters, Bertha (Gilbert) Dominey, Coldbrook; Elsie (Jim) Sherrard, Berwick; Margaret (Cecil) Bond, Kentville; Mary (Roger) McCamon, Waterville; Jean (Henry) Streeter, White Rock; one brother, Wayne (Debbie), Aylesford; eight grandchildren, Colton, Spencer, Kaitlyn, Jordan, Delaney, Lilly, Victoria and Daniel; one great granddaughter, Ashlynn; many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by four brothers, Charles, Tiny, Harris and William. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service and reception at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 10, 2017 in the White Family Funeral Home, Kentville. Donations in memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia, the Canadian Diabetes Association or the charity of your choice. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the White Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Kentville, Nova Scotia.
