Sheldon Leroy Welton

Sheldon Leroy Welton - 80 of Kentville, passed away at home on January 8, 2017, with his family by his side. Born in Kentville, he was a son of the late Roy and Clara (Kynock) Welton. Sheldon worked in construction for over 40 years. After his retirement, he took great pride in his garden and his homemade sauerkraut, which he often shared with others. He enjoyed trout fishing and was always eager to get out to his favorite fishing spots in the spring. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Antoinette (Doucette); daughters, Bonnie (Jamie) MacPherson, Kentville and Shelley (Mark) Berlemont, Kentville; grandchildren; Darcie, Claire, and Ethan. He was predeceased by brothers Wylie and Bev. Special thanks to the VON Homecare workers and the VON Palliative Care team who took great care of Sheldon during his illness, making it possible for him to be at home. Thank you to Dr. Jim Seaman who took such good care of Sheldon while he was a patient of his. Cremation has taken place and there will be a private family service at a later date.
