Myra Jean Levy

Myra Jean Levy – 95, of Kentville, formerly of Centreville, Kings County, passed away Tuesday, January 10, 2017 in Shannex–Orchard Court, Kentville. Born in Centreville on June 3, 1921, she was a daughter of the late Walter and Georgia (Bennett) Frail. Upon graduation from Kings County Academy she taught school in Greenfield, Kings County, where she met her husband Victor. Together they raised their two sons and enjoyed 55 years of marriage. Church was a huge part of her life where she was involved in many Christian ministries, including teaching Sunday School, leading bible studies and working on various committees and boards. She instilled in her children and grandchildren Christian values and strived to share her love for the Lord whenever possible. She is survived by two sons, Kenneth (Linda), Kentville; David (Sheila), Canaan; five grandchildren, Tanya (Jon) Akin, Jeff (Aimee), Beth Anne (Jesse) Wheaton, Jason (Heather), and Jonathan (Jennifer); eleven great grandchildren, Mitchell, Marisa, Matelyn, Rylee, Cole, Gavin, Nash, Savannah, Sarah, Meghan and Rebekah; many nieces and nephews. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She was predeceased by her husband, Victor; ten sisters; a brother; and a brother in infancy. Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Friday, January 13, 2017 in the White Family Funeral Home, Kentville. The funeral service, followed by a reception, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 14, 2017 in the New Minas Baptist Church, Reverend Daniel Cormier and Reverend Sterling Gosman officiating. Burial will take place at a later date in the Pereau Cemetery, Kings County. Donations in memory may be made to the New Minas Baptist Church. The family wishes to say a special thank you to Shannex-Orchard Court, Kentville, to the staff and nurses for their love and care given to Mom during her residency there, especially in her final days. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the White Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Kentville, Nova Scotia.
