George Eldon  Welton

George Eldon Welton - 79, of Forest Home, passed away Friday, January 13, 2017 in the Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born in Forest Home, he was a son of the late Allen and Gladys (Butler) Welton. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed hunting and cutting wood with his sons. He worked as a roofer for many years, until retiring due to ill health. He had a love for music, his fiddle, mouth organ and playing the spoons. He is survived by his wife, Janet (Corbin) Welton; a daughter, Linda (Serge) Faucher, Waterville; sons, Todd (Nicole), Scotts Bay; Timothy (Ruby), South Alton and David (Sandra), Kentville; a sister, Shirley (Cecil) Russell, Kentville; brothers, Donald (Marge), Centreville and Albert (Shirley), New Brunswick; grandchildren, Ashley (Tony), Devon (Cassie), Beverly (John), Darla, Josh, Keenan (Jackie) and Madison; a great grandchild, Sophie; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a son, Derrick and a brother, Thomas "Tommie". Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Monday, January 16, 2017 in the White Family Funeral Home, Kentville, where the funeral service, followed by a reception will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 17, 2017, Reverend Mike Veenema officiating. Burial will take place in the Elm Grove Cemetery, Steam Mill, Kings County. Family flowers only by request. Donations in memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the White Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Kentville, Nova Scotia.
