Donna Darlene Enserink

1961-2017

Donna Darlene Enserink

Donna Darlene (Dill) Enserink - 55, of Woodville, Nova Scotia, went to be with her Lord on Friday, January 13, 2017, with her husband by her side while in their home. Born in Comox, British Columbia, on July 28, 1961, Donna lived in many locations across Canada with her RCAF family. Her family returned to their native Nova Scotia, where Donna attended West Kings Rural High School and later studied at Mount Saint Vincent University and Alberta College. She then worked as a medical secretary, but her dream was to be a mother. She met and married Jacob "Jack" Enserink of Aylesford. Together, the couple raised their large family, living in Aylesford, Grafton, Cambridge, and Woodville. They worked as a team in the family business and on the family farm.

She leaves behind her husband of nearly 35 years, Jack; children, Catherine (Patrick) Ruelens, Jennifer (Kevin) Dares, Jacqueline (John) Robbins, Elizabeth, Kimberley (Everett) Sacrey, Jonathan (Haleigh), Caroline, and Victoria; grandsons, Jacob and Dakari; mother, Marie (Sexton) Dill; and siblings, Ernest, Craig, and Cathy. She was predeceased by her infant son, Joshua, and her father, David.

Donna is remembered especially for her love for children. Even in the midst of the busyness of raising eight of her own, she was always taking more children from various communities - church, school, neighbourhood - under her wing and showering them with love and baked goods. Donna was so excited to become an Oma; her two grandsons were born in the last two years and they brought her so much joy.

Donna’s generosity and hospitality touched the lives of so many people. She was always willing to serve others, whether it was by providing food, household help, childcare, or a listening ear. She was faithful in praying for and with others. Her love for people was evident in the way she lived her life.

Despite the grief of her departure, we rejoice in the assurance of where she is now and that we will see her again. Always missed and never forgotten, we rest in the knowledge that Donna is with her Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.

Blessed assurance, Jesus is mine

O what a foretaste of glory divine

Heir of salvation, purchase of God

Born of His Spirit, washed in His blood

This is my story, this is my song

Praising my Savior all the day long

This is my story, this is my song

Praising my Savior all the day long
