Georgina Hiltz
1925-2017
Georgina Hiltz - 91, of Fundy Villa, Berwick, formerly of New Minas, passed away on Sunday, January 15, 2017 in the Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born in Aberdeenshire, Scotland, she was a daughter of the late George and Anne (Yeats) Robertson. Georgina and her eldest son, Charles, immigrated to Canada on August 31, 1946 on the RMS Queen Mary as a War Bride, landing at Pier 21, Halifax. She was a member of St. James Anglican Church, Kentville, the High Tide Drifters and Meals on Wheels. She especially enjoyed family gatherings and having tea with family and friends. Georgina was also a valued volunteer with the New Minas Elementary School. She is survived by five sons, Charles (Dianne), Riverview, New Brunswick; Gordon, Moncton, New Brunswick; Gary, Ian and Christopher (Eileen), all of New Minas; daughter-in-law, Jeanette Hiltz, Halifax; step-daughter, Pat (Grant) Lloyd, Coldbrook; six grandchildren, five great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She was predeceased by her husband, Cecil; brothers, John, Gordon, Norman and William "Bill". Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, January 19, 2017 in the White Family Funeral Home, Kentville, where the funeral service, followed by a reception, will held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, January 20, 2017, Reverend Cathy Pharo officiating. Burial will take place in St. John's Anglican Church Cemetery, Church Street, Port Williams. The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to Wendy and the staff of Fundy Villa and the doctors, nurses and staff of Medical B - Valley Regional Hospital for their care, kindness and compassion. Donations in memory may be made to the Salvation Army, the Annapolis Valley Victorian Order of Nurses, Carey-Me (in support of palliative care in the home) or to a charity of your choice. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the White Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Kentville, Nova Scotia.
