Rona Louise Sweet
1934-2017
Rona Louise Sweet - 82, of South Alton, Kings County, passed away Friday, January 27, 2017 at home. Born in Blue Mountain, she was a daughter of the late Vincent "Gordon" and Hattie (Russell) McDow. She worked for a number of years at the convenience store at Casey’s Corner, South Alton and later at the Scotian Gold Packing Plant, Coldbrook, from where she retired. She is survived by a son, Leon (Karen Salsman); a daughter, Roxene (Wayne Brown); sons, Gordon (Bernice), Vance (Dot), Robert (Darlene Moore), James (Michele) and Lyndon; sister, Doreen Carey, Mt. Denson; brothers, Darrell (Goldie), Mt. Denson; Braydon (Gladys), Murphy Lake; sisters-in-law, Jeanie and Alma; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband of 64 years, Albert; three brothers, Hewitt, Firman and Ira. Cremation has taken place. A celebration of her life visitation and reception will be held from 10:00 a.m. until 12 noon on Thursday, February 2, 2017 in the White Family Funeral Home, Kentville. A private family burial will take place in the Blue Mountain Cemetery. Donations in memory may be made to the Blue Mountain Cemetery Association or the charity of your choice. Special thanks to the Annapolis Valley Victorian Order of Nurses and Dr. Mullan for making possible Rona's final wish of passing away at home.
