Frances Dorothy Wood

Frances Dorothy Wood – 94, of New Minas. It is with sadness we announce the passing of our aunt, Frances Dorothy Wood on Friday, February 10, 2017. Born in Kentville to the late Walter and Florence (Rashleigh) Wood, she attended KCA school and later Mack Business College. She worked as a clerk in Peter Cleyle's store and later moved to Halifax to work for 32 years as a stenographer for the Department of Defense. Frances was an avid photographer, recording our family activities throughout the years. She loved to take pictures of the Public Gardens, animals, especially cats and of her travels. She was predeceased by her parents; sister, Gwen Robbins; brothers, Richard and Stan Wood. She is survived by sister-in-law, Gloria Wood; nieces, Christine Rafuse, Linda Wood-Carey, Florence Outhouse and Mildred Small; nephews, David Wood, Stephen Wood, Rick Wood, Timothy Wood and many great nieces and nephews. There will be no visitation by request. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 14, 2017 in the White Family Funeral Home, Kentville, Reverend Cathy Pharo officiating. Burial will take place in the Elm Grove Cemetery, Steam Mill. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to St. James Anglican Church, Kentville or a charity one's own choice.  Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the White Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Kentville.
