Sheila Patricia DeWolfe

1953-2017

Sheila Patricia DeWolfe

Sheila Patricia (Laverty) DeWolfe - 63, of Canning, Kings County, peacefully passed away on Friday, March 3, 2017 at home surrounded by her loving family. Born in Halifax, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Marguerite Laverty and a beloved granddaughter of the late Kathleen Wilson. Sheila loved her family with all her heart and was an especially proud Mum to Mary and Lisa and Grandma to William. Sheila enjoyed gardening and to be with nature and this was often reflected in her photography. Sheila's love for the outdoors lead her to choose employment with Blenus’ Greenhouse, DeWolfe Farms, and Blueberry Acres. She eagerly anticipated the beginning of each new harvest season and often one knew where Sheila was in the field or orchard by the direction of her laughter. Sheila loved her jobs and the lifelong friendships she made at each and every one of them. Sheila was a gifted cook and baker. She enjoyed collecting recipes and testing them out on her family and friends, no one ever left her home hungry. Sheila also enjoyed knitting, making quilts, and bowling, before she became ill.  Sheila was an amazingly strong woman who endured 17 years of peritoneal dialysis. Sheila is survived by her husband of 28 years, John; daughters, Mary (Kevin) Kennedy, Dartmouth and Lisa (Jason Pickles) Spinney and grandson, William Pickles, Berwick; sister, Gail (Frank) Stroeher; brother, Greg (Janice) Laverty; half brother and sisters, Christopher, Christine, and Heather; sisters-in-law, Sally Huntley and Ardith Spinney; many nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews; loyal fur companion, Winston.
