Martha "Janet" Larsen

It is with sadness that the family of Janet Larsen announces her passing on April 7, 2017 at the QEII Hospital in Halifax, following a brief illness. Born in Kentville in 1961, Janet was the daughter of Gwen Larsen and the late Randy Larsen. She worked at Dalhousie University for 30 years, mainly in the Killam Memorial Library. Janet loved literature, jazz and classical music, Prince Edward Island, and her extended family. She is survived by her mother, her sisters, Carole and Anna-Marie, and Anna-Marie’s partner, Carl Simpson. She was predeceased by her grandparents, Fred and Mary (Smyth) Harvey, Henry and Thelma (Graham) Larsen, and Henry Larsen’s second wife, Marion Chesley Larsen. A graveside service will be held at11:00 a.m. Friday, May 19, 2017 in the Berwick Cemetery. Family flowers only, by request. Donations may be made in memory to the QEII Health Sciences Centre – Palliative Care, Dalhousie Killam Memorial Library Acquisition Fund, or the charity of your choice. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the White Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Kentville.
