Elsie "Joy" Haines

Elsie "Joy" Haines – 85, of Kentville, passed away Monday, April 10, 2017 in Paula Morine’s Special Care Home, Port Williams. Born in Wolfville, she was a daughter of the late George and Laura (Newcomb) Weaver. She had been employed as a secretary and accounts clerk with the Fredericton School Board and also worked as a stenographer with the RCMP. She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Bill; a daughter, Janet (Todd) Campbell, Nackawic, NB; two sons, Robert (Rose), Windsor, ON; Donald, Ottawa, ON; two brothers, Gerald (Marina), Kentville; Charles (Mardy), Baddeck; a granddaughter, Sarah Carrier and her son, Riley Heppell, Fredericton, NB; several nieces and one nephew. Cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation, by request. The funeral service, followed by a reception, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, April 15, 2017 in the White Family Funeral Home, Kentville. No flowers, by request. Donations in memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the White Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Kentville.
