Esther Madeline Stewart - 96, of West Paradise, Annapolis County, passed away peacefully Tuesday, May 16, 2017 in Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island. Born in Kentville, Nova Scotia, she was the daughter of the late Lewis K. and Winnifred Leopold.  She is survived by sons Alan, Toronto; Rob (Tonji), Alexandra, Prince Edward Island, and a large circle of family and friends. She was predeceased by her husband, Graeme; and brother, Murray. Avid quilter, extraordinary cook, gardener, winning cribbage player and qualified ham radio operator (VE1VWS), Esther liked nothing more than enjoying a cup of tea, cookie and conversation with her friends at her home in West Paradise. The family would like to extend special thanks to the staff at Grace Haven Retirement Home, Paradise; Andrews of Charlottetown Retirement Home, Charlottetown; and Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Charlottetown for their care and compassion.  Visitation will be Saturday, May 20, 2017 from 2:00-3:30 p.m. in the White Family Funeral Home, Kentville. The funeral service will be held Sunday, May 21, 2017 at 3:00 p.m. in Evergreen Baptist Church, West Paradise, Rev. Mark Reece and Rev. Quincy Collins officiating. A reception will follow in the West Paradise Community Hall. Burial will take place at 6:30 p.m. in the Elm Grove Cemetery, Steam Mill, Kings County. No flowers by request. Donations in memory may be made to the charity of your choice. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the White Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Kentville.
