Mark Cornelius Bouter

1981-2017

Mark Cornelius  Bouter

Mark Cornelius Bouter — 35, of Wolfville, was peacefully taken home to be with Christ on July 2, 2017, while surrounded by his family singing the beautiful lines of the following hymn:

WHAT will it be to dwell above,
And with the Lord of glory reign,
Since the blest knowledge of His love
So brightens all this dreary plain?
No heart can think, no tongue can tell,
What joy 'twill be with Christ to dwell.

And God has fixed the happy day,
When the last tear shall dim our eyes;
When He will wipe these tears away,
And fill our hearts with glad surprise;
To hear His voice, and see His face,
And know the fulness of His grace!

 Mark will be missed so much as a loving husband, father, son, son-in-law, brother, brother-in-law, uncle and friend. He displayed the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ in all of his relationships, always taking the time to make those around him feel special, and always caring deeply about the wellbeing of others. He was especially devoted to his wife Heide, and children Sophia, Amy and Luca, whom he loved with all his heart. Somehow Mark was able to live his entire life in view of eternity, calling out pretension and challenging others to display reality in their faith, while still being easygoing and fun to be around.

We don’t know why the Lord called Mark home so soon after his courageous battle with cancer, but the following passages give us comfort, knowing that before long we will be reunited with him in glory:

And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away. (Revelation 21:4)

In Your presence is fullness of joy (Psalm 16:11)
