Shirley Ann Hughes

Shirley Ann Hughes – 71, of Hants Border, Hants County, passed away Friday, July 7, 2017 at home. Born in Wolfville, she was a daughter of the late Roy and Lillian (Bezanson) Harris. She had been employed as a Personal Care Worker. Shirley was a very loving and compassionate person, who loved her husband, children, grandchildren and her dog, Blanket. She also enjoyed gardening. She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Eric; a daughter, Candice Hughes (Guy Boutilier), Dartmouth; two sons, John (Shandelle), Berwick; Derrick "Digger" (Kellie Trefry), Hantsport; a brother, Maurice (Patricia) Harris, Centreville; six grandchildren, Brodie, Colin, Abigail, Camden, Mya and Kamryn; many nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her dog, Blanket. She was predeceased by several brothers and sisters. Cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation, by request. There will be a private family funeral service held at a later date. Donations in memory may be made to the Nova Scotia Lung Association or the Hantsport Food Bank. Arrangements have been entrusted to the White Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Kentville, Nova Scotia.
