William Frederick "Willie" Biggs

William Frederick "Willie" Biggs – 94, of Melanson, Kings County, passed away Tuesday, October 17, 2017 in Evergreen Home for Special Care, Kentville. Born in Grand Pré, Kings County, he was a son of the late William and Annie (Robar) Biggs. He attended school in Grand Pré and enjoyed participating in a reunion in 2000 held at the original Old Grand Pré Schoolhouse. Willie was well-known in the community as a hard worker. He also loved listening to Country Music. He is survived by his wife of 72 years, Marguerite (Miles); two daughters, Donna (Reverend Gary) Manthorne, Melanson; Shirley (Lowell) Sams, Black River, Kings County; two grandchildren, Cynthia and Carrie; five great grandchildren, Matthew, Maria, Melanie, Michael and Cassandra. He was predeceased by a sister, Edna Allen; a brother, Henry. Cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation, by request. A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, October 20, 2017 in the Gaspereau Cemetery, Reverend Gary Manthorne officiating. No flowers, by request. Donations in memory may be made to Evergreen Bus Fund, the Alzheimer Society or the charity of your choice. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the White Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Kentville.
