Chief Warrant Officer Larrie Roy Ward (Ret’d) – 82, of North River Road, Aylesford, passed away Thursday, October 26, 2017 at his home in Aylesford. Born in Centreville, Kings County, he was a son of the late Roy and Mildred (Neville) Ward. Larrie was a 38 year veteran of the Canadian Armed Forces, with tours in Korea, The Golan Heights, and Cold War Europe, retiring as a Chief Warrant Officer. Larrie was a lover of people, flying, travelling, hunting and country music festivals. He was a great friend to all who knew him. He is survived by his children with Gracie, Richard (Ena), Wendy (Rino), Shelley (Frankie) and foster son, Robert Knickle (Kathy); grandfather of Ryan, Tyler, Richard (Tonya), Kristie (Ryan) and Trent; brother of Marjorie Walker, Betty Oddo (Russell) and Daniel Noble (Nancy). He is also survived by sister-in-law, Dorothy Ward; many nieces and nephews, step grandchildren, great grandchildren, step great grandchildren and step great great grandchildren. He was predeceased by brother, Terry Ward; sister, Elizabeth Rowe; grandson, Daniel Longard; and nephew, Billy Noble. Visitation will be held from 1-3 p.m. Sunday, October 29, 2017 in the White Family Funeral Home, Kentville, where a combined Royal Canadian Legion service and funeral service, followed by a reception, will be held at 3:00 p.m., Pastor Brent Carter officiating. Burial will take place in the Elm Grove Cemetery, Steam Mill, Kings County. Donations in memory may be made to a local food bank or the charity of your choice. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the White Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Kentville.
