George Everett Fraser

George Everett Fraser - Age 87, formerly of Wolfville. Dad passed away peacefully at Windsor Elms Village, Falmouth, NS on Saturday, November 4, 2017. Born in Wolfville, and raised in Port Williams, he was the only child of the late Everett and Queenie Fraser. Dad is survived by daughter, Paula (Douglas Edwards), Truro and son, Robert (Emily DeWolfe-Fraser), Marriott’s Cove; grandchildren, Krista (David Yuill), Melanie, Allison (Ian Morrison), Graeme (Faye Fraser), Patrick and great-granddaughter, Avery Mary Jean Morrison born on November 7, 2017. He was predeceased by his wife, Marleigh. Dad attended Horton Academy in Wolfville and later went on to earn an Accounting designation (CMA) by attending night classes while working full-time and raising a young family. He eventually returned to Wolfville to work in the Business Office at Acadia University. He retired after 25 years as Director of Research Finance. He lent his financial expertise to several organizations including St. Andrew’s United Church and was a founding member of Tideways Housing Co-operative in Wolfville, providing affordable housing for seniors. Dad was a loving and kind family man who enjoyed time with family and friends. He enjoyed outdoor activities and many family camping trips were undertaken. Later on he enjoyed vacations and time spent at the cottage where his wood working skills were put to great use. Dad was also an avid sports fan, especially of the Toronto Maple Leafs and Acadia University sport teams. We would like to extend a sincere thank-you to all of the staff at the Windsor Elms Village for the wonderful care they provided our father. Visitation will be held at the White Family Funeral Home, Kentville, NS on Saturday, November 18, 2017 from 1:30-3:30 p.m., preceded by a private family interment at the Pine Grove Cemetery, Middleton, with Reverend Ivan Norton officiating. Memorial donations, if desired, may be made to Windsor Elms Village or charity of choice. Arrangements have been entrusted to the White Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Kentville.
