Dorothy Evelyn Whiteway passes away at age 104

Dorothy Evelyn Whiteway – 104, of Kentville, beloved mother, grandmother and friend, passed away Thursday, November 16, 2017 at home. Born in Kentville, she was a daughter of the late Harvey and Cora (Galley) Wynott. Dorothy is survived by her children, Marion Illsley (Fred), Kentville; James Whiteway, Kentville; Frederick Whiteway, Trenton, Ontario and Judith Whiteway, Kentville; grandchildren, Margot Nickerson, Halifax; Brenda Brightman (Ronald), Dartmouth; Shelly Biggs (Douglas), Cambridge, Ontario; James P. Whiteway, Halifax; Paul Whiteway, Halifax; Kelly Kaiser (Douglas), Kentville; James D. Whiteway (Mandy), Trenton, Ontario and Maria Keene (Ken), Bowmanville, Ontario; 12 great grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, James; son-in-law, Wesley Nickerson; two daughters-in-law, Helen Doiron and Ardith Hergett; a brother, Fred, California; sisters, Cora O'Brien (Arnold), Wolfville and Jennie Wambolt (Bernard), Kentville. Cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation or funeral service, by request. Donations in memory may be made to the IWK Health Centre Foundation. Arrangements have been entrusted to the White Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Kentville.
