Phyllis Joyce Mackay

Phyllis Joyce Mackay – 97, of the Windsor Elms Village, Falmouth, formerly of Kentville and Sydney, passed away Sunday, December 17, 2017 in the Windsor Elms Village. Born in Port Williams, she was a daughter of the late H. Wyman and Gladys (Richardson) Porter. Before her retirement she had been employed with the Sheriff’s office and Prothonotary. She was a former member of the Kentville United Baptist Church and the Ladies Auxiliary, St. Eulalie Rebekah Lodge, Kings Historical Society and CNIB. Phyllis had also been a member of the former Blanchard Fraser Memorial Hospital Ladies Auxiliary. She is survived by a daughter, Lynne (Paul) McCulley, Ardoise, Hants County; a son, Gerry (Michelle) LeBlanc, Toronto; a step-daughter, Jeanette Chenier, Cornwall, ON; a step-son, Edward (Jennifer) LeBlanc, Stellarton; grandson, Mike (Julie) McCulley, Brooklyn, NS; step-grandchildren, Edward LeBlanc Jr. and Donna LeBlanc, both of New Glasgow; great-grandchildren, Andrew McCulley and Kristina McCulley, both of Aylesford; a step-great-grandchild, Dakota Hutt, New Glasgow. She was predeceased by her first husband, Edward LeBlanc and her second husband, Duncan Mackay; step-son, Ernest LeBlanc; infant sister, Eleanor. Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the combined Rebekah Lodge service and funeral service at 2:00 p.m. Friday, December 22, 2017 in the White Family Funeral Home, Kentville, Reverend Kevin Dingwell officiating. A reception will follow in the reception room of the funeral home. Burial will take place in the Elm Grove Cemetery, Steam Mill. Donations in memory may be made to the charity of your choice. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the White Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Kentville.
