Ronald Winston "Ron" McBay

Ronald Winston "Ron" McBay – 74, of Grand Pré, Kings County, passed away Friday, December 22, 2017 in the Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born in Wolfville, he was a son of the late William and Alice (Rose) McBay. Ron was the Branch Manager of EMCO Plumbing and Heating from where he retired. He had always been employed in the plumbing and heating industry, having worked for both T.P. Calkin and Sumner Plumbing. Ron was the superintendent of the Horton United Sunday School, Grand Pré for 30 years and chairman of the Horton Community Centre. He was a life member of the Wolfville and District Lions Club and a member of the Wallbrook Baptist Church, where he sang in the choir. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Lynda (Coffill); daughters, Dawn (Robert) Rodgers, New Glasgow; Stacey (Anthony) Morine, Wallbrook; a son, Darren (Kelsey Salsman) McBay, Coldbrook; granddaughter, Georgia McBay; sisters, Marion Davison, Windsor; Shirley (Phil) Harris, Hantsport; brothers, John (Pat) McBay, Grand Pré and twin, Donald (Patty) McBay, New Minas; a sister-in-law, Karlene McBay-Stocker, Ontario; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by brothers, George and Bill; a sister-in-law, Eleanore McBay; a brother-in-law, Jim Davison. Cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation, by request. The funeral service, followed by a reception, will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, December 28, 2017 in the White Family Funeral Home, Kentville, Reverend Gary Manthorne officiating. A private burial will take place at a later date in the Willow Bank Cemetery, Wolfville. Donations in memory may be made to the Annapolis Valley VON or the charity of your choice. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the White Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Kentville.
