Dr. Wayne Harry Hills

Dr. Wayne Harry Hills – Christmas Day brought about the sudden and unexpected loss of our loving husband and father Dr. Wayne Hills, 72, Wolfville. Wayne, Pops, Grampy, Wayner, Dr. Hills - was loved dearly and his death leaves many filled with heartache.

Wayner grew up in Dorval, Quebec and migrated east to attend Acadia University where he received his Bachelor of Commerce in 1968. Acadia brought him more than a higher education - he also met his lifelong love and wife Sally (Eaton) there. Wayner's life was also enriched greatly by the friends he made at Acadia. He and Sally maintained many fun-filled friendships that have spanned over 50 years. In 1974, he graduated from Dalhousie University as a Doctor of Dental Surgery. He took great pride in his career but nothing filled him with more joy than spending time with his family.

Wayner and Sally eventually settled back in Wolfville where he built Main Street Dental Centre. He loved being on the water, fishing, and watching any sport on television. His playful and generous nature made everyone feel valued and important. He cherished his relationships deeply, loved to talk on the phone and made time for everyone.

He is survived by his wife Sally; daughters, Allyson (Paul) MacQueen, and Joanna as well as his mother-in-law, Joan Eaton; his brothers, Michael Hills, Howard Hills and sisters, Maureen (Chris) Teasdale, Shirley Hills and Carol-Ann Hills; his brother-in-laws, Peter (Janet) Eaton and Ronnie (Connie) Eaton. He was a loving Grampy to grandchildren, Vedder and Parker. He was predeceased by his father, Harry Hills and mother, Lillian (MacKenzie) Hills.

In Wayner style, he left us on one of the most important days of the year - we will never forget him! Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held Saturday, January 6th from 2-4pm in White Family Funeral Home, 100 Cornwallis St, Kentville. In lieu of flowers, we ask that you drink a Schooner and call a friend.
