Bernice Opal Kane

Bernice Opal Kane – 95, of Canning, passed away on Thursday, February 8, 2018 in the Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born on Big Tancook Island, she was a daughter of the late Lindsay and Beulah (Langille) Stevens. Bernice was a member of the First Cornwallis Baptist Church, Canard. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great great grandmother. She is survived by a daughter, Carol Kane, Canning; a son, Reginald Jr. "Reg" (Sylvia); Sheffield Mills; five grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; a sister, Jean, Ontario; nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Reginald Lewis Kane; a sister, Mae; two brothers, Kenneth and Albert. Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, February 13, 2018 in the White Family Funeral Home, Kentville, where the funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 14, 2018, Pastor Stephen Wheaton officiating. A private family burial will take place at a later date in the Hillaton Cemetery, Kings County. Donations in memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the First Cornwallis United Baptist Church, Canard. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the White Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Kentville.
