Alison Constance (Gray) Webster - 86, of Kentville, died Sunday, February 18, 2018 in Evergreen Home for Special Care, Kentville. Born in Aberdeen, Scotland, Alison graduated from the University of St. Andrews in 1954 with Honours B.Sc. in Chemistry and completed a Teacher's training course for Scotland in 1955 in Science (Chemistry). She subsequently taught at Crieff (Scotland), immigrated to Canada in 1957 to teach at Onslow, Central Kings Rural and Cornwallis District High Schools in Nova Scotia and Woodlawn High School in California for a total of six years. After daughter Janet was born in 1964 she became a homemaker and has lived in Kentville, Nova Scotia since 1965. Formerly active in Sunday School, Brownies, Guides and Meals on Wheels her health gradually deteriorated until severe osteoporosis took over in 2008 and she has been confined to bed or wheelchair since 2010. As the last surviving member of her immediate family she was predeceased by sisters, Helen and Barbara; brother, John and parents, Sir Alexander and Lady (Alice Gunn) Gray and survived by niece, Annabelle (England); nephew, Neil (Australia) and grandnephew, Paul (Toronto). She is survived by husband, David H. Webster; daughter, Janet M. Webster; grandchildren, Brittany, Erik and Anika Mosher, great-grandchildren, Alexa, Dillinger and Cameron. She was predeceased by adopted son, Alan John. Steadfast, patient and of sterling character, she will be sadly missed by family and friends. Visitation was held from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, February 21, 2018 in the White Family Funeral Home, Kentville. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, April 13, 2018 in the Cambridge United Baptist Church, followed by burial in the church cemetery. A reception will follow in the church hall. Family flowers only. Donations in memory may be made to the Cambridge United Baptist Church, Feed Nova Scotia or the charity of your choice.
