Mary "Lorraine" Tetrault

Mary "Lorraine" Tetrault - 94 years of age, Mrs. Lorraine Tetrault (nee MacDougall) passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on February 19, 2018. Lorraine was born in Stellarton, NS to Alexander and Marguerite (Bijeau) MacDougall and moved to the Annapolis Valley where she worked as a telephone operator until her marriage to RCAF F/L Joseph Tetrault. During Joseph’s career, the couple lived in PEI, Quebec and Manitoba before returning to Nova Scotia.  Lorraine was an active member of the Catholic Women’s League, as well as an accomplished bowler and bridge player. She also found joy in reading, bird watching and gardening. Lorraine was always a kind and gentle soul, who gave of herself whenever she could, and supported many charities. Lorraine was known by all who knew and loved her for her unwavering faith, which carried her through challenging times throughout her life, and was an inspiration to her family. Lorraine was predeceased by husband, Joseph; sister, Barbara Barrett. She is survived by brother, Ronald; children, John; Anne-Marie and Catherine (Troy) Droesbeck; grandchildren, Ella, Sylvie and Cleo Tetrault, Cynthia Graves, and Julia Droesbeck. Many thanks to St. Vincent’s Nursing Home, whose kindness and care ensured Lorraine’s comfort and happiness. Visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. until the time of the funeral service at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 21, 2018 in the White Family Funeral Home, Kentville, Father Gerald Saulnier officiating. A reception will follow. Burial will take place in the Holy Cross Cemetery, Kentville. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the St. Vincent’s Guest House Foundation or to the Arthritis Society of Canada.
